Albert Park
The city's Victorian garden, busiest at lunchtime when the university empties out onto the grass.
Students fill it at lunchtime through term, which is what makes it feel safer than the rest of the CBD often does. Flower beds, a fountain and Moreton Bay figs big enough to sit under. The top end by the university is flat and easy going. Below that the paths get steep. There are old wartime tunnels sealed under the lawns, and no, you can't go in.
What to expect
Historically significant, tree-filled park with flowerbeds, a Victorian fountain & statues.
