The gateway to the ranges, with a monumental carved pou and short bush loops off the ridge.
A visitor centre high on a ridge in the Waitākeres, with a pou at the entrance and views out to both the Manukau and the Tasman. The nature trail is short and well graded. Staff will tell you which tracks are actually open, which matters because kauri dieback closures keep changing. Use the boot cleaning stations at the track ends.
