Clipped lawn and a reflecting pool on the clifftop at Takaparawhau, looking straight out at Rangitoto.
The bench at the top is one of the most photographed seats in Auckland, and tour groups will queue for it, so don't expect it to yourself. The view does the rest. Wide sealed paths and plenty of room, so a pram or a wheelchair is no trouble. It's exposed up there and properly cold in a southerly.
