Jellicoe Park
Onehunga's civic park, with a colonial blockhouse, the local pools and a playground under old trees.
More history than a suburban park has any right to hold. A blockhouse, a restored fencible cottage, the war memorial pool, an arch of remembrance and a properly shaded playground. It's small enough to watch everything from one bench. That shade is the point in February, when the open parks nearby are unusable.
