The Shore's big picnic beach and the one most families default to. A gentle beach inside a marine reserve, a playground built for all abilities, three toilet blocks and cold outdoor showers for getting the sand off. No cafe in the park, though food vans turn up in summer. Fishing is banned throughout, so the rock pools are worth a look. It was given back the name Te Oneroa ō Kahu in 2026.
