Meola Reef Reserve (Te Tokaroa)
The inner west's best known dog headland, out along a lava reef. Bring a towel.

An old tip, now a restored peninsula with a fenced dog park and a water station by the entrance. It's muddy. Properly muddy after rain, so most regulars keep a towel in the boot. Worth knowing the boardwalk out the back is on leash, and it's ignored often enough to annoy the people who follow it.
