Panmure Basin (Te Kai a Hiku)
A tidal crater lagoon with a flat loop, a footbridge, and birds working the shallows.

A drowned volcanic crater joined to the estuary by a narrow channel, ringed by a sealed path. Flat all the way round, which makes it one of the better buggy and wheelchair loops in the east. Herons and shags patrol the edges. The tide races through the channel, and people stop on the bridge to watch it.
