Point Chevalier Beach
A sheltered beach that holds the afternoon sun, with a wide grassy reserve behind the sand.
Calm and shallow, which is what makes it work with small kids. Behind the sand there's enough grass for a rug and a playground, and the shops are close when someone needs an ice cream. It keeps the light late into the evening. Check Safeswim after heavy rain, same as anywhere on this harbour.
