St Heliers Bay Beach
The last of the Tāmaki Drive beaches, with a proper village behind it and the cliff walk starting at the far end.

A tidy bay at the end of the waterfront road, with a real village of cafes and bars behind it rather than a row of takeaway shops. The walk up to Achilles Point starts at the eastern end. Calm water, shade along the back of the beach, and parking that's easier than Mission Bay. Quieter, older crowd.
