Tuff Crater Reserve (Te Kōpua o Matakerepo)
A flooded volcanic crater with a flat loop of boardwalk and mangrove, and birds the whole way round.
A boardwalk and gravel circuit around a tidal crater, through mangroves and coastal forest. Flat, quiet and full of birds, with herons and kingfishers working the edges at low tide. One of the easier proper walks on the Shore, and closer to the motorway than it sounds.
